01The page that knew, and the ledger that didn't

The renewal was written down.
Just not anywhere that watches a calendar.

A Notion page is an excellent place to decide something. It is a poor place to be reminded of it eleven months later, by which point the decision has already made itself.

MAR“Review this before it renews” — one line under a toggle in the vendor doc.No vendor, no renewal date, no amount. Nothing to remind anybody.
AUGHarbor & Co. has a project hub, an owner, a scope and a plan.Harbor & Co. has three invoices and no way to say which project they paid for.
FEBThe page still says review it. Nobody has opened the page since spring.$144 has already left the card for a tool nobody uses.
THE GAP $144 · noticed after it left

None of this is a discipline problem. The plan lives in one tool and the money lives in another, and nothing runs between them.

02What crosses over

You choose the databases.
CashFish does the matching.

Authorization in Notion is granted page by page and database by database. CashFish sees the selection and nothing else — no sidebar, no archive, no private pages.

NNOTION$CASHFISHROWS & CHECK-OFFS INREVIEW TASKS ONLYDIRECTION OF TRAVELCashFish reads only the pages you share and writes only the review tasks you ask for — it never publishes your financial records into Notion.
01Client & project databasesrows from databases you map are matched to CashFish contacts, so both tools describe the same client
02Task check-offswhen a review to-do CashFish created gets marked done in Notion, the linked record notes it
03Page linksa project's Notion page sits one click away from its invoices and documents in CashFish
04Scoped accessyou grant pages and databases individually during authorization — everything else stays invisible

Matching runs on a property you nominate, usually a client name or an email address. A row that matches nothing stays unmatched and visible rather than being guessed at, and you can point it at the right record yourself.

03The thread that became a cost

Somebody wrote it down.
Now it has somewhere to land.

Four things said inside a workspace last month, and where each one ended up on the money side. The fourth is still waiting on a person — which is exactly where a decision belongs.

Client hub — Harbor & Co.Project row matched to a client recordHarbor & Co. — retainerlinked

Three threads reached a project. The fourth is asking you where it belongs.

CashFish reads only the pages you shared and writes only the review tasks you asked for. Invoices, transactions and reports stay in CashFish — the Notion page holds a link to them, never a copy.

04What changes

Two tools stop
contradicting each other.

The workspace keeps doing what it is good at. What changes is that the money behind each page stops being somebody's private knowledge.

01
Renewals become to-dos, not surprises
A subscription due to renew shows up as a review task in the database your team already checks each morning. Deciding to keep or cancel happens on your schedule, not the vendor's.
02
One client, one story
The project page in Notion and the financial record in CashFish point at each other. Anyone reading either side can reach the other without asking who has the link.
03
Document reviews with a home
A contract extracted from your inbox needs a human decision. CashFish drops that decision into your Notion review database, where it gets triaged with everything else.
05Connecting it

Three decisions,
and none of them permanent.

No data migration, nothing to install on a machine, and no long weekend. The connection can be switched off from the Connection Health panel in settings without disturbing anything already sitting on your records.

01
Authorize the workspace
Connect through Notion's OAuth flow and select exactly which pages and databases CashFish may access. Nothing outside the selection is readable.
02
Map your databases
Point CashFish at the database holding clients or projects and pick the property — usually a name or email — used to match rows to contacts.
03
Choose a home for review tasks
Pick one database where CashFish may create renewal and document-review to-dos, or skip this step to keep the connection read-only.

Connection method: Notion OAuth — access granted per page and database. Data is protected with 256-bit encryption and CashFish is SOC 2 Type II, ISO 27001 and GDPR compliant. Every connection shows its state in the Connection Health panel and can be disconnected there at any time.

06Works alongside

Notion holds the plan.
These hold the rest.

Tasks and projects sit inside the wider set: Gmail, Outlook, Yahoo Mail, iCloud Mail, Zoho Mail and any IMAP inbox for documents; Google Drive, Dropbox and OneDrive for files; Stripe, Square and PayPal for takings; Zapier, webhooks and API keys for whatever is left.

What teams ask
before they connect a workspace.

Only the ones you share during Notion's authorization step, which grants access page by page and database by database. Anything you don't select is invisible to CashFish, and access can be revoked from either Notion or CashFish settings.
